Machine Tools Up 11% in Q1 FY26
India’s manufacturing momentum remains strong despite a mixed economic backdrop. In September 2025, the Manufacturing PMI held firm at 57.7, reflecting healthy factory activity, while inflation eased to record lows, supporting growth. Within this environment, the Indian machine tool industry posted steady expansion in FY26, with production up 11 percent year-on-year to INR 2,615 crore.

Balu Forge Unveils Automated Shell Line
Balu Forge Industries Ltd has commenced operations of its empty shell production line—one of the first 100 percent indigenously built production line in India—at its greenfield manufacturing campus in Belgaum, Karnataka. The line with an annual production capacity of 360,000 shells has an advanced forging and machining line for large-caliber ammunition projectiles.

Tsugami Opens Chennai Assembly, Foundry
Tsugami inaugurated its world-class precision engineering assembly and foundry infrastructure in Oragadam in the outskirts of Chennai. The INR 300 crore investment makes it the largest ever by a Japanese machine tool maker in India and the first foundry in India by a Japanese machine tool maker.

Supercomputing India 2025 Debuts
The inaugural ceremony of the first edition of Supercomputing India 2025 (SCI 2025), organized by C-DAC under the National Supercomputing Mission and supported by MeitY, was held at the Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Yelahanka, Bengaluru, in the presence of dignitaries from government, industry, and academia.
